[Submissions Pool] Increased functionality of 'Fellows' tab in submissions pool for greater efficiency of EdAdmin work
Feature Request
Description
A clear and concise description of the feature.
Proposals
I would like to increase the functionality of the Fellows tab in the submissions pool. Right now, there is some information there which is very usefull. However; in many cases I need to open multiple different tabs and gather information from multiple different sources, before I can trouble shoot any issues. In order to make this process faster I have several suggestions to improve the functionality of the page.
-
Proposal 1
Hyperlink the names of the fellows to their respective 'fellowships' page (e.g. Doe, John should link to https://scipost.org/colleges/fellowships/[John Doe Fellowship number here]/) -
Proposal 2
Indictate how busy the fellows currently are on a scale of 1-4+ (see screenshot) If I need the fellows for something, I need to know how many submissions they are currently already considering as EiC. If they have 4 or more papers in consideration, I generally refrain from asking them to do more. Seeing this immediately makes it easier to see whom i can and cannot contact. -
Proposal 3 Add a button to sent a automated email to the fellows (see screenshot for suggestions). I have the setup for the email of course (see form emails below). this email would be a manual reminder for the fellow to have a look at this particular submission. The best thing would be to click this email button I get to choose to immediately sent a pre-programmed email, or a webpage where I can change the text. If this is too convoluted, I would prefer to always recieve a page where I can change the text and then sent the email to the fellow. Furthermore, the email will be 1 of two kinds, depending on whether the fellow has appraised the paper (indicated their qualification and readiness to take charge and such) or not. Two different email buttons would also work I guess; but this has the potential to accidentally sent the wrong email.
-
Proposal 4 It would also be great if the Senior Fellows could also recieve this email button. This email button then goes to a webpage with a empty email box. The SF's can use this to contact other fellows.
Additional Information
I would love it if the hyperlink feature can be implemented asap. This is likely a very easy update and would help me out tremendously. The other updates might be a bit harder, so I would understand if they can wait for a bit.
Form email for Fellows [WHO HAVE NOT APPRAISED]:
Dear [Name of Fellow],
We are writing this email to point your attention to the following submission at SciPost: [insert submissions link]. The paper is entitled [insert title], authored by [insert authors]. This submission has been waiting for an editor in charge (EIC) for some time now, prompting us to help guide the process along.
Based on your previous commitments as EIC, we believe that you might be well suited to take charge of this submission. Considering the time that has passed since the paper was initially submitted, we would like to ask you to consider supervising the submission. Please also indicate in the pool if you are unable to take on this task, be it due to qualifications or possible competing interests, as this will help us accelerate the process and find a suitable EIC.
If you believe that you are not really qualified to take charge of this submission, do you perhaps have any recommendations for other fellows that might be interested in this submission?
Finally, we would also like to thank you for your continued efforts for SciPost.
We hope to hear back from you. With kind regards, [Name of EdAdmin account holder] and/or The SciPost EdAdmin Team

This submission has been waiting for an Editor in Charge (EIC) for some time now, prompting us to help guide the process along.
We noticed that, at the time of submission, you mentioned that you were interested but did not have the time to take charge at that moment, or that you were (marginally) qualified on the subject matter. Considering the time that has passed since then, we would like to ask you to reconsider taking charge of the submission. If you are still unavailable to take charge of this submission, do you perhaps have any recommendations for other fellows that might be interested?
Finally, we would also like to thank you for your continued efforts for SciPost.
We hope to hear back from you.
With kind regards, [Name of EdAdmin account holder] [and/or] The SciPost EdAdmin Team
