[Publication Metadata] Change input method for affiliation attribution
Feature Request
Description
At the moment affiliations need to be searched for and connected per author. Instead, I propose to first connect each author with an affiliation index number (for example, author Abee connected to affiliations [1,4,5]), and then separately, relate each index number to an affiliation. In this implementation, we can furthermore extract the author-to-affiliation connections from the TeX itself.
If N_{auth}, N_{aff}
are the number of authors and affiliations for a given paper, then the current method's complexity scales roughly as \mathcal{O}(N_{auth} \times N_{aff})
, while the suggested scales as \mathcal{O}(N_{auth} + N_{aff})
without auto-connections and as \mathcal{O}(N_{aff})
with them. Thus, we would be removing the dependence on number of authors which allows for overall faster production but also enables the rapid production of multi-author/collaboration papers where this step may require hours at a time.
